Still little known but on the rise, the wines of the Mamojada region of Sardinia of are sumptuous, born from grapes that often grow as high as 800 meters above sea level. It is an extreme mountain area that has little to do with the Sardinia of picture-postcard beaches and seascapes. There are two grapes grown: the red Cannonau, which here comes from ancient and local biotypes, wines that combine power and elegance; and the white Granatza, very modern, streamlined wines, in some cases even quite macerated, very saline and chewy, with great freshness and beautiful verve. About ten wines in the tasting to understand the viticultural and winemaking landscape of this enchanted corner of what is the second largest island in the Mediterranean.
