Italy is the country with the largest number of wine grapes in the world and very differently from most other countries with many native grapes, Italy actually makes wines in small to large volumes from almost all of them. Native grapes are highly local and intimately linked to the regions in which they are produced, thereby turning Italy into a veritable wine grape mosaic with many different grapes and just as many different wines. In this masterclass about ten different wines from all over the country that are extremely different one from the other not just becaue of climate and soils, but because the grapes used to make them are completely different too. After all, orange juice tastes different from apple juice, right? It’s no different with the juice of different grapes, just as it is with the juices of different apples. Lambrusco Grasparossa, Maceratino, Marselan, Molinara, Nebbiolo, Nerello Mascalese, Pecorino, and Zibibbo are just some of the great grapes featured in this tasting.
