Carlo Pozzi graduated in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Milan. He earned his PhD in molecular genetics at the Max-Planck Institute in Cologne, where he also completed his postdoctoral studies, working on barley genetics under the guidance of Prof. Salamini. He focused on the genetics and genomics of fruit plants, particularly peach, working as a Principal Investigator at the Parco Tecnologico Padano Foundation in Lodi. He then continued his career in Switzerland, at Philip Morris International, where he managed molecular genetics projects in tobacco. He later returned to Italy, to the Edmund Mach Foundation in San Michele all’Adige, where he worked on optimizing research management for apple trees and grapevines. He teaches at the universities of Milan, Turin, and Copenhagen.
