REBUGHINI (GENERAL MANAGER, VERONAFIERE): ATTENDANCE BY US BUYERS IS ENCOURAGING. WE SHARE THE SECTOR’S CONCERNS. VINITALY WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT COMPANIES AND ASSOCIATIONS TO FACILITATE AGREEMENTS

The reciprocal 20% trade tariffs on Italian and European wine announced last night by President Trump are not preventing US operators travelling to Verona. More than 3,000 American buyers have confirmed attendance at the 57th Vinitaly (Veronafiere, 6-9 April): a figure that repeats last year's record. "Attendance by US operators is encouraging news for companies, as well as Vinitaly," said Adolfo Rebughini, General Manager of Veronafiere. “An uncertain scenario is opening up that will impact the geography of our exports. We share the sector's concerns and this is why we make the Vinitaly platform available to organisations to facilitate possible direct agreements between producers, Italian associations and importers-distributors on our top destination market outside the EU."

The overall delegation of 3,000 US professional operators attending Vinitaly also includes 120 top US buyers (10% of the total contingent in the 2025 incoming plan) selected, invited and hosted by Veronafiere and the ICE Trade Agency, mainly from Texas, the Midwest, California, Florida and New York.

The programme not only includes b2b meetings during the Show but American operators will also be in the forefront of an exclusive networking evening arranged for them (Tuesday 8 April, Palazzo della Gran Guardia) when the next edition of Vinitaly.USA will also be presented (Chicago, 5-6 October 2025).
